LaTRICIA HARPER WOODS

Counselors Academy Executive Committee member LaTricia Harper Woods, APR, has been honored by the City of Scottsdale, Arizona, the Wichita Business Journal, and Phoenix Business Journal.

She founded Phoenix-based Mahogany Xan Communications in 2012, after working in PR roles in state and local government. She frequently presents on a variety of topics that include multicultural communications, diversity in public relations, personal branding, and communication strategies.

In 2019, Woods and five other agencies launched The Change Agencies, the first national network of independently-owned multicultural and LGBTQ public relations firms. She is the co-author of “A Girlfriend’s Guide to Social Media.”

Woods is a member of PRSA’s Nominating Committee, national public relations chair for the Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc., and vice chair of the Chandler Cultural Foundation’s Board of Directors. She has served as past president of the PRSA Kansas Chapter, a board member for the PRSA Phoenix Chapter, and as a member of PRSA’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
